According to an associate of this writer, Darin from Boise, as he was sitting at his computer this morning around 7:15am, he felt a gentle swaying, and then reloaded the USGS until he saw word of the earth quake. Darin says it only took 20 minutes for the USGS to coordinate with the various USGS stations nation wide in an effort to triangulate the exact location.

The Idaho Legislature Revenue and Taxation Committee met Monday at 9am to discuss and take public comments, regarding a proposed bill to alter the Idaho grocery tax credit. This writer attended the meeting in person. The meeting room was full and overcrowded with some people sitting on the floor and others straining their ears while listening outside in the hallway.
The Spokesman-Review provides an excellent recap of the events at the meeting, while the Idaho Statesman provides a more politically charged account of those same events.

The Chateau Home Owners Association has mailed out the yearly dues
notice. As was stated in last years annual meeting, the yearly dues
amount was raised for the first time in 10 years (unlike every other
association in the city). This increase is to reflect rising costs of
operation (we now have a city water account) and to make up for funding
shortfalls as a result of decreased income in the transfer fee caused
by very few home sales.
The dues increase also reflects the
increased likelihood that the fence along Locust Grove will need
substantial repair this summer or in the near future. In order to make
this possible a portion of the dues increase is being reserved for that
repair.
The dues increase also will be used to complete
the landscaping of the grassy section along Locust Grove, finally
completing a previously paid for design by a landscape architect.
Comments and suggestions can be directed directly to the HOA Board
members using the "Contact The Board" link on the left, or by visiting
